During these extremely difficult times, Clackamas Rep recognizes the opportunity to be a positive force in dealing with racism in all its manifestations.
We are proud to be a part of this community and look forward to working together to confront a situation that weakens not only our country, but each of us as well.
While we do not pretend to understand the extent of the fear, anxiety and frustration experienced by people of color on a daily basis, where activities most of us take for granted — jogging, driving and walking through a neighborhood — can become dangerous, we can, as artists and producers of theatre, select plays that share diverse stories.
We made a small step towards greater inclusion with our production of “Queens Girl in the World” and were tremendously encouraged by the positive reaction we received from you, our patrons. But that was only a beginning and we must do more. We must continue to educate ourselves about the deep and enduring legacies of slavery and the systemic racism that has denied Black people equal opportunities. And we must provide space and support for Black artists to share their stories with us. That is what we can and will do.
We look forward to being together with you again in the theatre and thank so many of you who have remembered us during this challenging time.

Clackamas Repertory Theatre is a program of the Clackamas Community College Foundation, a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization. It was founded in 2005 by Artistic Director, David Smith-English and Executive Director, Cyndy Smith-English. Both champions of education, the Smith-English’s wanted to create a theatre for former and current students of CCC. Clackamas Rep has become a place for students to gain professional theatre experience. In 2016, Clackamas Rep spent $62,000 of the annual budget on hiring current and former CCC students. These individuals were hired in all aspects of the theatre as interns, performers, designers, and directors. Clackamas Repertory strives to serve as many members of the community with low ticket prices, a flexible ticket exchange policy and FREE parking! Clackamas Rep offers FREE preview performance tickets to all Clackamas County high school drama students.
