David Smith-English
Artistic Director
As artistic director of CRT, David has directed William Shakespeare's The Tempest, Fiddler on the Roof, The Last Night of Ballyhoo, Swinging on a Star: The Johnny Burke Musical, Waiting for Godot, The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (abridged), Moon Over Buffalo, I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change and Fuddy Meers.
David has been an instructor in CCC's Theatre Arts Department since 1995, and has working professionally in Portland theatre for over thirty-five years, as a director, actor, singer and instructor. At CCC he has directed over 40 productions, ranging from classics by Shakespeare, Moliere, Chekhov and Ibsen, to more contemporary fare by Edward Albee and Harold Pinter. He has directed professionally for Artists Repertory Theatre, Sylvia's Class Act Dinner Theatre, Stark Raving Theatre, Summer Repertory Onstage (Portland Civic Theatre), The Musical Company, Studio Lyric Theatre, The Oregon Trail Pageant, the Portland Parks Bureau sponsored summer musicals in Washington Park, Theatre Workshop and The Coaster Theatre in Cannon Beach.
Cyndy Smith-English
Managing Director
For CRT Cyndy has played Madame Aigreville in The Ladies Man, Reba Freitag in The Last Night of Ballyhoo, Ethel in Moon Over Buffalo, Hucklebee in The Fantastiks and Gertie in Fuddy Meers. Roles with the CCC Theatre Department are Miss Preen in The Man Who Came to Dinner, Lorraine in A Lie of the Mind and the mother in Quilters.
Cyndy has been performing in the Portland area for over 25 years, with such companies as Artists Repertory Theater, The Musical Company, Theatre Workshop, Lakewood, Stark Raving Theatre, The Coaster Theatre and New Rose Theatre. Favorite roles include Eliza Doolittle in My Fair lady, Yum Yum in The Mikado, Hermia in A Midsummer Night's Dream, Marion in The Music Man and Luisa in The Fantasticks. Cyndy won a Willy Award for Best Supporting Actress as Laura in The Glass Menagerie.
Christopher D. Whitten
Resident Designer/Technical Director
Christopher D. Whitten, technical director and resident designer for the Clackamas Community College Theatre Department since 1995, designs sets and lighting for the three annual productions and teaches the technical theatre and stand-up comedy classes.
Over the last 25 years, beginning as the technical director for Portland Civic Theatre and through his company C. Whitten Design and Display, Mr. Whitten has designed sets and or lights for over 350 productions. He has worked for many professional companies in Portland including Triangle Productions, Lakewood, Broadway Rose, Tygres Heart, Tapestry Theatre, Northwest Children's Theatre and Artists Repertory Theatre. He has also worked extensively with area high schools including La Salle, Tualatin, Rex Putnam, Wilsonville, Sunset, Aloha and Lake Grove.
Alva Bradford
Costume Designer
Alva Bradford has costumed shows for Clackamas Community College since 1992 and Clackamas Repertory Theatre since 2005. A long-time costumer and designer for Portland area theatre and dance companies, she is also a multi-media artist creating masks, puppets, and sculptures, some of which have been used in CCC and CRT productions. She is the artistic director of Mr. B's Puppet Theatre -- a family puppet-theatre featuring her Sicilian style marionettes--which has performed at the Oregon City Carnegie Center, PNCA, Estacada Summer Celebration, and the Estacada Public Library.
Annie Rimmer

Annie has directed and costumed Purgatorio by Ariel Dorfman, West of Stupid by Cusi Cram, 'dentity Crisis by Christopher Durang and Downtown by Jeffrey Archer. She has also costumed CRT's The Ladies Man and Talk Demonic's music video Duality of Deathening. Acting credits include Kitty in Taking Steps and Babe in Crimes of the Heart (CRT); Mayella Ewell in To Kill a Mockingbird (Salem Rep) and Stage Manager Annie in A Christmas Story (Public Playhouse).
Annie holds a B.A. in Theatre from Willamette University where her roles included Peggy in The Women and Tormentia in W(h)acked. Annie directed the first mainstage show of CRT's 2011 season: For Better.
Brian Haliski
Core Company Member
Brian was recently seen at CRT as Alonso in William Shakespeare's ,The Tempest. He has also been seen as the Reverend Arthur Humphrey in See How They Run
and was a guest artist in CCC's production of How I Learned to Drive, playing the role of Uncle Peck. Some of his previous roles include Arnold in Torch Song Trilogy, Sylvia St. Croix in Ruthless!, The Pirate King in The Pirates of Penzance at both Lakewood and The Musical Company. Brain was a company member of Broadway Rose, where he took on many roles and he also appeared at Storefront Theatre, Theatre Workshop, Triangle Productions and Summer Repertory Theatre.
Ernie Casciato

Ernie has appeared with CRT as Lazar Wolf in Fiddler on the Roof. Other roles include Adolph Freitag in The Last Night of Ballyhoo, Estragon in Waiting for Godot and Bellomy in The Fantasticks. He also directed CRT's production of A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum. Ernie has appeared with such companies as Artists Repertory Theatre, The Musical Company, Storefront Theatre, The Oregon Stage Company, Shakespeare in the Parks, Mock's Crest Productions and especially the Portland Civic Theatre. Awards include a Willy Award, an OTIS and three Drammys. He recently completed his 35th year as drama director at LaSalle High School.
Jayne Stevens

Jayne's credits for CRT include Miranda in William Shakespeare's The Tempest, Marie in The Ladies Man, Sunny Freitag in The Last Night of Ballyhoo, The Mute in The Fantasticks, Eileen in Moon Over Buffalo, Heidi in Fuddy Meers and ensemble in A Christmas Carol. As CCC's 2007-2008 artist-in-residence she appeared as Rachel in Reckless, Grace in Bus Stop, and was part of the ensemble in Quilters. While a student at CCC she played Cecily in The Importance of Being Earnest, Yelena in Uncle Vanya, Meg in A Lie of the Mind, Maggie in Lend Me a Tenor, Meg in Crimes of the Heart and Jessica in Communicating Doors.
Jayne has a B.S. in Theatre Arts from Portland State University where she portrayed Emma in Fox'd and Elvira in Blithe Spirit, both of which earned her Irene Ryan nominations. At PSU she also played the sister-in-law in The Good Person of Setzuan, Lydia in Big Love and Cathy in Tales of the Lost Formicans. She also appeared at Artists Repertory Theatre in Owen Meany's Christmas Pageant.
Jayne is currently enrolled in the theatre arts graduate program at PSU.
Jayson Shanafelt

Jayson has appeared with CRT as Caliban in William Shakespeare's The Tempest, Bassinet in The Ladies Man, Joe Farkas in The Last Night of Ballyhoo, Tristram in Taking Steps, Vladimir in Waiting for Godot, Clive in See How They Run, Jayson in The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (abridged), Limping Man in Fuddy Meers, and Scrooge in A Christmas Carol. He also played Jayson in Public Playhouse's production of The Complete Works and Carter in Fat Pig, a reading in partnership with Artists Repertory Theatre.
As CCC's first artist-in-residence in 2002-2003 he was Algernon in The Importance of Being Earnest and Benedick in Much Ado About Nothing. Jayson is also a member of Northwest Classical Theatre Company where his roles have included Hamlet, Mercutio in Romeo and Juliet, Gratiano in The Merchant of Venice, Pistol in Henry IV Part II, Lucio in Measure for Measure, York in Henry VI, Sherlock Holmes in The Musgrave Ritual, and Auguecheek in Twelfth Night.
Jayson was awarded Best Leading Actor for his role in Soup or Hero, created for the Portland Film Race 2010.
Travis Nodurft

For CRT Travis has played Trinculo in William Shakespeare's The Tempest, Lucky in Waiting for Godot, Millet in Fuddy Meers and was a member of the company in both productions of A Christmas Carol. He has performed a number of roles at CCC including Tybalt in Romeo and Juliet, Banjo in The Man Who Came to Dinner, Jack in The Importance of Being Earnest, Cliff in Cabaret, Lysander in A Midsummer Night's Dream and the Sea Captain in Twelfth Night.
Travis held the title of Professional Clown and toured for a year with the Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey Circus. He earned his Associate Degree at Clackamas Community College, his Bachelor's at University of Oregon, and his MA at Portland State University. He is currently a teacher for Oregon City School District.
Travis also holds the distinction of being CRT's resident photographer.
